Avery McGaha
Owner & Principal Consultant
Avery is a data and analytics expert with more than 15 years of experience serving summer camps.
From his first summer as a counselor-in-training, Avery was hooked on camp. He spent the next decade doing every job at camp possible, culminating in four years on the leadership team at a nonprofit summer camp focused on environmental education.
While working as a nonprofit leader, Avery fell in love with data analytics and the process of answering complex questions. Eventually, he had to move on to pursue his passion for data full time.
Today, he works full time as a data analyst and engineer in the senior care industry. Of course, his passion for camp has not diminished a bit!
Through Camp Query, Avery is thrilled to offer a range of software, data, and analytics services to support summer camps and youth programs across the country.
When he is not coding, building databases, or creating dashboards for camp clients, Avery enjoys hiking with his dog and listening to long audiobooks.
He and his wife life in Charlotte, NC. They make frequent trips back to the mountains of Western North Carolina where Avery grew up — and where they met, working at summer camp!
